Teaching music comes as naturally as playing. Nothing is more thrilling than seeing my students excel, whether that’s in piano lessons, music theory or GCSEs.
I was the first amongst my musical circle of friends to break into the esteemed Grade 8 in Piano, back when I was 17. I already knew by this time that I wanted to make music my life and my living – so shortly afterwards and I was taking the journey north to study at the competitive and oversubscribed Leeds College of Music. I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree (w/Hons) in Jazz Studies and quickly went onto finish my PGCE and become a Qualified Teacher of Music.
Between 2011 and 2014 I was a classroom Music Teacher for children at Ursuline School in Newham and King Solomon High School in Redbridge. Whilst I no longer teach in schools, I offer Private Tuition for fantastic prices and excellent results.
I can coach beginners with who don’t know their ivory from their ebony, or I can help talented pianists climb that final ladder to reach the advanced grade that they’re looking for. I’ve taught children who can just about talk, adults taking up a new hobby and pensioners looking for a new talent. When you’re teaching music, it’s all about passion – nothing else comes into it. There are lots of piano teachers in London and Essex, make sure you choose the right one.
I also specialise in teaching pianists the basics of Jazz, Improvisation & Composition; taking them through to advanced concepts to allow them to play whenever, wherever, with whatever. Music Theory comes into many of my lessons, from the basics of the stave to intervals and cadences. I can coach and prepare pupils for the trials of Grade Exams and GCSE Exams. I’ve been a piano teacher for beginners, I offer piano lessons for kids – but it doesn’t matter your age or ability, get in touch and let’s chat.
